Petanque court according to the "Official Regulation for the sport of Petanque" (2017) according to FEP (Spanish Petanque Federation) and F.I.P.J.P (Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu provençal).
Details
Characteristics:
- Closed enclosure with the regulatory dimensions 15m long by 4m wide, made of autoclaved pine wood from Sweden, with a square floor plan or rectangular approximately 40cm high, inside which the sport of Petanque can be played.
- Petanque is practiced on all kinds of surfaces. However, in order to play better, the use of compacted sand is recommended. To obtain an ideal surface, remove a layer of 20-25cm from the ground area. Put about 5cm of coarse gravel, level and compact. Cover it with a geotextile fabric that prevents the proliferation of weeds while allowing the land to drain. Add another 15cm of gravel and pack down. Deposit a layer of sand morterenca (yellow sand) until the gravel is no longer visible. Moisten the sand and compact once more.
