Characteristics:
The Motor Point Pencil allows the work to be carried out more precisely and comfortably, thus increasing the stimulation energies. Consequently, the work session is more intense and efficient. It allows to facilitate the precise search of the motor points before an electrostimulation session. It also gives greater comfort to the patient. It can be adapted to Snap or Wire cables, which means it can be used for any type of electrostimulator.
The motor point finder pen allows you to precisely locate the motor point of the muscle group or groups to be stimulated. The positive electrode must be precisely connected at the motor point of the muscle. The motor points correspond to a specific area in which the motor nerve is most sensitive. Although the exact location of the different motor points is well known today, there may still be variations, even a few centimeters, between one subject and another.
The motor point finder pencil allows to determine with great accuracy the exact location of the motor points for each person and thus guarantee the optimal effectiveness of the electrostimulation programs.
Utilization:
- Place the electrode with connection to the negative output (black) on the muscle as indicated and connect the cable to the patch placed gently, so we then proceed to search for the motor point with the positive output of the same cable (red) with the help of the point finder pencil. . The positive connector (red) must be connected to the end of the motor point finder pencil, it can be used both with normal output cable, banana type or with easy snap output cables.
- The tip of the pencil is used to establish contact with the skin. In the place where we must find the position of the patch with a positive connection (red) we will put gel, move the pencil until we find a muscular response (a movement of the muscle in the form of a "jerk" / contraction), we will briefly cross the area with the pencil until find the point with the best muscular response. In this area we will place the center of the patch that will have the positive connection.
- Disconnect the positive output from the pencil and connect it to the electrode that we have just placed where we have found the motor point.
- The search for the application point of the patch with a positive connection must be carried out with a low frequency electrostimulation program, so that the ideal positioning point of the positive electrode (motor point) can be precisely located. The positioning of the same is an important factor for the effectiveness of the treatment.
- During the search for the motor point, the energy has to be progressively increased by manually moving the point of the pencil on the conductive gel, without interrupting contact with the skin. With a power of between 5-15 it is usually enough to locate the motor point.
- The use of the point-seeking pencil is recommended before any muscle electrostimulation session. Once the practice has been acquired, the motor points can be easily found again.
